How It All Works

Using a specially-developed HVLP spray tan machine, a fine mist of tanning solution is applied to your body – choose from Fake Bake, Tantrick, or if you're in a real hurry, the superb Aviva Express rapid tan. The immediate "result" you see is, in fact, the cosmetic colour guide. Gorgeous as you'll feel, your Fake Bake or Tantrick tan will develop over the next 6-8 hours or overnight, and your Aviva Express takes as little as 1 hour to develop. The tanning product reacts with the outermost layers of your skin and after showering-off the colour guide, your glorious, enviable tan will be revealed for all to admire.

For best results by far, it's strongly advised to follow a few essential do's and don'ts:

Pre-Tan Skin Preparation

Shave, wax and/or pluck 24 hours before your spray tan appointment. This gives your skin time to recover and avoids the risk of dotting of the tan on open pores.
Treat yourself to a full-body exfoliation, paying particular attention to your feet & ankles, knees, elbows and hands. Non-oily products are recommended. If exfoliating the day before your spray tan, you can apply plenty of moisturiser to ensure your skin is in tip-top condition. However, do not apply moisturiser on the day of your spray tan.
For a special event, ensure your spray tan is the last beauty treatment you have done.

At Your Spray Tan Appointment

Ensure your body is free from moisturiser, deodorant, make-up, perfume or oils, all or any of which can interfere with the absorption of your spray tan.
Part of your spray tan experience includes having some oil-free moisturiser applied to those traditional dry areas; your feet, knees, elbows and your hands if necessary. Fake Bake, Tantrick and Aviva Express spray tan solutions contain plenty of skin-moisturising ingredients to ensure your skin is left in great condition from the moment they're applied.
Wearing old, dark underwear, disposable undies or whatever you feel comfortable in, you'll step onto protective sticky feet in my pop-up spray tan booth, stepping out less than 10 minutes later gloriously bronzed.
After your spray tan, the palms of your hands are wiped clean of any overspray, as are your finger and toenails.

The Next 1-8 Hours or Overnight

Relax while your Fake Bake, Tantrick or Aviva Express spray tan develops over the next few hours, or you can let Fake Bake and Tantrick develop overnight. If you're at home, slip straight into your PJs!
During this time, you must avoid water touching your skin, drink very hot drinks through a straw, and avoid letting toothpaste touch the skin around your mouth. You should not add any products to your skin.
After 6-8 hours or the following morning – or after 1 to 3 hours if you've selected an Aviva Express spray tan, shower off the excess colour guide with warm water and minimal soap product. Gently pat yourself dry, and apply plenty of moisturiser to your whole body, to lock-in your tan for as long as possible.

Maintaining Your Spray Tan

Using plenty of moisturiser after each shower will lock-in the colour and help keep your tan looking fabulous for as long as possible.
Your spray tan can last between 3 and 7 days, and some clients report even longer. It all depends on your skin type, your skin prep and your aftercare.
After around 5 days, treat yourself to another gentle full body exfoliation. This will help your tan fade evenly, and will keep your skin in great condition in readiness for your next spray tan.
Your spray tan offers no protection against the sun's natural UV rays, so please use your usual SPF sun creams.
